These three guys are leading rap right now. It doesn’t matter who you think is better, all three are great for this generation.
Drake is the easiest to listen to. From his hooks to his flows, it’s an instant hit every time.
J. Cole is easy to listen to too, but more thought provoking. Similar to Drake with the simple flow, but also deeper at times. But also very relatable on subjects that matter in the world.
Kendrick is the most lyrical out the three. Andre 3000 with rhyme patterns and creativity. Pac with the subject matter and challenges to the culture.
To be able to go platinum without compromising your integrity, like Cole’s latest album did—and for Kendrick to put out an album like To Pimp a Butterfly without any typical rap song, and tons of funk and spoken word. And to release an album like Drake just did with no hits or promo, and to be that successful—just proves that staying true to yourself is possible again.
