The accolades continue to pour in for Paul, who’s made more 3-pointers this season than ever before in his career and continues to climb up the NBA’s all-time assists list, but his latest feat puts him in a company with only three other all-time greats.
In the third quarter Tuesday, in the midst of his fifth career season averaging a double-double with at least 18 points per game, Paul surpassed the 13,000 career point mark. By doing so, he became one of only four players in NBA history with at least 13,000 points and 6,500 assists in fewer than 700 career games.
The only other players to achieve that feat? Oscar Robertson, Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson.
