The Candle

Lindsey Giroir:

I don’t know why society urges us to move on so quickly, it’s not natural to do that.

Say you’re holding a candle, the candle burns bright when you first light it, you watch it burn steady until it’s almost gone.

Now, you can continue to hold it while you watch it burn, and probably burn yourself, you could also choose to blow it out, but then you’d suddenly be in the dark — or you could put it down, and use that little bit of light left to figure something else out, so you’re not left in the dark or burned.

It's simple: if you write your email address here, my words will reach you again.
