Transcendence Review

A scientist’s drive for artificial intelligence, takes on dangerous implications when his consciousness is uploaded into one such program.

I wanted to like this movie. It had all the ingredients to be something worth remembering. Johnny Depp has played some amazing roles in his career (Secret Window, Blow, Public Enemies), but this is certainly not one of them. In Transcendence, Dr. Will Caster (Depp) becomes a super-computer by uploading his conscience to the internet, giving him enough power to control the entire world and leave a legacy behind that will never be forgotten—but unfortunately, this movie will go down as nothing more than an afterthought.
