God will use even the bad experiences to move us to the next phase in our life.
Nobody can change themselves.
We don’t have the power to change ourselves. Big things or little things. We can’t change our character and behavior. Generally it never lasts.
Religion says, “Change and come join us.” Jesus says, “Follow me and you will change.”
The spirit has to open our heart.
It’s the Holy Spirit that gives us an invitation to believe.
I don’t understand the Gospel, but I believe it.
Confess it with your mouth and you will be saved.
The Holy Spirit is working on us when we’re not working on ourselves.
Isn’t it wonderful that sinners can follow Jesus.
No matter how you feel about yourself, Jesus invites you to sit at the table with him.
The nation of Isreal was busy busy busy. Sitting i’s and crossing T’s. You’re doing all these things, but God doesn’t really desire that. God desires your heart. He desires a relationship with us.
You honor me with your lips, but your heart is far from me.
Jesus never demanded that they changed first, because he knew if that they began to follow him, there would come a time where they’d look in the mirror, and they wouldn’t recognize themselves anymore.
The harder I tried, the further away from the goal I got.
It’s not the law that will bring change. It’s the spirit.
The word of God is like a mirror.
Not vain. She goes to a mirror to work. “There’s work that needs to be done here.”
Discipleship begins with the word of God.
Faith comes by hearing the word of God.
We’ve all got blind spots.
We become the mirror.
A mirror isn’t the image. It’s a reflection of the image.
A reflection of Christ in us.
