Scaling Down the Backlog

I’ve given more thought to my gaming backlog than a normal person should. I thought I’d be able to crack the code and master how to solve this growing list. I’ve had big plans to finish all these games that I’ve started but have yet to finish. I’ve made long lists on paper, in task managers, in apps like Sofa, all with the idea of making some kind of dent.

Since the twins were born, that has completely changed. I’ve made peace with knowing there’s not enough time in the day to finish any game, much less an entire backlog. My ambition has lowered, no more lists to complete, and now the pressure is removed.

For the last two months, gaming for me has been managing resources and building my own custom starship. No pressure, simply just existing in the infinite universe of No Man’s Sky. It feels better this way.
