As far back as I can remember, I’ve used the same password for everything. But ask anyone that’s familiar with security and they’ll all say the same thing: that’s the first rule not to do when trying to protect yourself.
The reason I, and millions of others, use the same password everywhere is because it’s convenient. We’re lazy, and we find the quickest way to get pass the login screen. For many years, my login to Facebook and my computer has been the same login for my bank account. What a dangerous thing to do.
I’ve found a solution to this problem. It’s called 1Password. Now, I only have to remember one master password (hints the name) to safely secure all of my login information, credit cards, and any other important things in my life.
It’s even more convenient with iOS 8. I don’t even have to type that password in. My fingerprint now opens up 1Password for me. That’s about as secure as it gets.
1Password can also generate passwords for you, making a long and unique string of letters and numbers, which would be impossible for anyone else to figure out.
This world is getting crazier by the day. More and more people are getting their information stolen. The best way to protect yourself is by being proactive with the tools you use. So try 1Password. You’ll be thankful that you did.
